Half a hectare of Vougeot premier cru sitting between Clos de la Perrière and Le Clos Blanc — a limestone site Charles van Canneyt believes is quietly benefiting from a warming climate. The least famous wine in a cellar that also holds Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Richebourg.

The domaine began in 1962 with the marriage of Alain Hudelot and Odile Noëllat, granddaughter of the Vosne grower Charles Noëllat, and the great Vosne parcels arrived by inheritance in 1978. Alain's last vintage was 2007; his grandson Charles van Canneyt has run it since 2008 and has deliberately kept the approach classical — ploughing, lower yields, wild yeasts, concrete fermentation, and enough restraint to let each site speak. Vougeot's premier crus live in the shadow of the Clos next door, and Les Petits Vougeots is where the value sits in this range.
