• Finish: Long and layered

Beaumonts is among the largest of the Vosne premiers crus and one of the most highly regarded; its marl and clay with a southerly tilt give a character distinct from the crus around it. Charles van Canneyt has run the domaine since 2008, after his grandfather Alain Hudelot's final vintage in 2007, and has kept the winemaking classical: soils ploughed, yields low, wild yeasts, must fermented in concrete for purity, around eighteen months in barrel. 2018 was warm and abundant, and the wines carry more flesh than the vintages on either side of them.
