Vallformosa

Vallformosa traces its roots to 1865 in Vilobí del Penedès, where vineyards surrounding the La Sala farmhouse marked the beginning of a winegrowing story that has continued for more than a century and a half. The house produced its first traditional-method sparkling wines in 1938 and has grown alongside the modern development of the Penedès.

Rather than relying on a single estate vineyard, Vallformosa works through long-term relationships with local winegrowing families across the region. Particular attention is given to the high-elevation “+500” zone, where vineyards around 500 meters above sea level experience cooler conditions and pronounced day-night temperature shifts.

The producer combines this grower-led model with a strong environmental focus, linking vineyard preservation, renewable energy, water reduction and modern cellar technology. Vallformosa’s identity is therefore as much about its network of growers and Penedès landscape as it is about its long history in sparkling wine.
