Henri Boillot

Domaine Henri Boillot is based in Meursault, between the two villages that define much of its work: Puligny-Montrachet for white Burgundy and Volnay for red. The Boillot family has worked vines in Burgundy since the late nineteenth century, and Henri joined the family estate in 1975 before developing both the domaine and his négociant activity.

Today Henri works alongside his son Guillaume. Henri focuses on the whites, while Guillaume has led the red-wine side since 2012. The estate’s stated goal is precision: expressing individual climats as clearly as possible, with Puligny’s limestone-and-clay soils and Volnay’s calcareous slopes giving the two halves of the domaine very different personalities.

The domaine’s split personality is part of its appeal: precise Chardonnay from Puligny and Meursault on one side, finely detailed Pinot Noir from Volnay and neighboring sites on the other.
