Bodegas Mastinell

Mastinell was founded in 1980 as a small family-run winery in the heart of the Penedès, at the foot of the Sant Pau mountain near Vilafranca del Penedès. The site is sheltered from northern winds and influenced by the Mediterranean, creating the mild conditions that have long shaped viticulture in this part of Catalonia.

The winery combines traditional sparkling-wine culture with a contemporary approach centered on organic farming, manual harvesting and careful fruit selection. Mastinell is recognized by D.O. Cava as an Integral Producer, meaning the complete cava production process is carried out at its own facilities.

Architecture and wine tourism have also become part of the estate’s identity. The Mastinell complex is designed around the visual language of cava bottles resting in the cellar, with a sinuous form and trencadís-inspired roof that ties the winery closely to the landscape and Catalan design tradition.
