Wither Hills

Wither Hills was founded in Marlborough in 1994 and takes its name from the Wither Hills range that borders the region’s vineyards. From the beginning, the winery has focused on wines that reflect Marlborough’s distinctive combination of land, climate and vineyard character.

The estate works across several Marlborough sites, including Rarangi near the coast, Taylor River directly behind the winery and Benmorven in the foothills of the Wither Hills. These vineyards span markedly different soils and mesoclimates, from coastal gravels and uplifted seabed to loam, silt, clay and river gravels.

Wither Hills produces a core range alongside Single Vineyard and small-batch Cellar Collection wines. Sauvignon Blanc remains central to the house, joined by Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and other varieties that express different parts of Marlborough.
