Olivier Bernstein

Olivier Bernstein launched his Burgundy project in 2007 after studying viticulture in Beaune and first learning the work hands-on in the Roussillon. He began in Gevrey-Chambertin before establishing his Maison at 4 rue Jean Belin in the heart of Beaune.

Bernstein’s approach is unusually direct for a micro-négociant: he and his team farm the vines themselves, work with old-vine parcels, and control the process from vineyard through élevage. In 2012, he acquired vines in Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Les Champeaux and Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru, deepening the domaine side of the project.

The Maison is built around an uncompromising focus on Burgundy’s great Pinot Noir sites — precision in the vineyard, restrained handling in the cellar, and a style aimed at combining power with finesse rather than sacrificing one for the other.
