Mommessin
Mommessin was founded in 1865 by Jean-Marie Mommessin at Grange Saint-Pierre, a former dependency of the Abbey of Cluny in southern Burgundy. The key of Grange Saint-Pierre later became the house emblem.
After more than a century in the Mâconnais, Mommessin established its headquarters in Quincié-en-Beaujolais, at the foot of Mont Brouilly. The house combines Burgundian winemaking traditions with the identity of Beaujolais, working closely with growers and selecting parcels across the region.
The Quincié site is Terra Vitis certified. Mommessin’s approach emphasizes vineyard selection, controlled yields and reduced use of plant-protection products, while its viniculteur Florent Georger oversees the wines from vineyard through cellar. The Grandes Mises range focuses on Gamay from Beaujolais crus, using longer vinifications inspired by Burgundian tradition.
