Guelbenzu

Guelbenzu traces its history to 1851, when records document Martín María Guelbenzu selling wine. His son Miguel modernized the family winery and earned important recognition in 1880; several generations later, Ricardo Guelbenzu launched Evo and Azul in 1992 and Lautus in 1999. Since 2009, Guelbenzu has been part of Grupo BORNOS Bodegas & Viñedos while retaining its own estate identity.

In 2001 the winery opened new facilities at Finca La Lombana in Vierlas, on the border between Aragón and Navarra, at the foot of Moncayo. The estate’s stony, low-fertility soils and pronounced day-night temperature swings shape a range built around Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Tempranillo and Graciano.

At InBodega, Guelbenzu brings together the estate’s Ribera del Queiles wines under one producer home, from Vierlas and Azul to the more structured EVO and Lautus. Future vintages will remain grouped here as the selection evolves.
