Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet

Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet is a historic family estate based in the hamlet of Gamay in Saint-Aubin. The Bachelet family’s roots in Burgundy reach back to the 17th century, and today Benoît and Jean-Baptiste Bachelet carry the domaine forward from the ten hectares assembled by their father, Jean-Claude.

The estate’s holdings are spread across Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, with numerous small parcels that allow the brothers to bottle a detailed range of site-specific wines. Vineyard work has steadily moved toward organic and biodynamic farming, with the 2023 vintage marking the first certified-organic crop.

In the cellar, the focus is on slow, natural fermentations, long élevage and restrained oak. The white wines are especially known for their balance of texture, freshness and mineral definition, with extended time on the lees helping each vineyard retain both depth and precision.
