Domaine Gagnard-Delagrange
Domaine Gagnard-Delagrange was created in 1959 with the marriage of Jacques Gagnard and Marie-Josèphe Delagrange, joining two Chassagne-Montrachet winegrowing families. Jacques remained closely involved in the cellar until his death in 2009, and their grandson Marc-Antonin Blain worked alongside him for three years, learning the domaine’s traditional style.
Over time, most of the family vineyards were passed on to the next generation. The domaine retained a compact set of holdings in Chassagne-Montrachet, including Premier Cru parcels and small village-level vineyards, while continuing to produce tiny quantities from some of the Côte de Beaune’s most prestigious sites.
Bâtard-Montrachet sits at the summit of the domaine’s range. Production is exceptionally limited, with just two barrels made, emphasizing the estate’s small scale and deeply traditional approach to white Burgundy.
