Château Léoville Barton

Château Léoville Barton is a historic Saint-Julien estate whose story is inseparable from the Barton family, an Irish wine-merchant dynasty established in Bordeaux in the eighteenth century and connected to the property since Hugh Barton acquired his share of the former Léoville estate in 1826.

Classified as a Second Growth in 1855, Léoville Barton has remained under Barton family stewardship for generations, building its identity around continuity, traditional Médoc craftsmanship and a distinctly Cabernet-led expression of Saint-Julien.

The vineyard lies on the gravelly soils of Saint-Julien on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, where Cabernet Sauvignon is joined by Merlot and Cabernet Franc to produce structured, age-worthy wines shaped by the estate’s exceptional terroir.
