Cantine Damilano

Cantine Damilano is one of Barolo’s historic family wineries, with roots dating to 1890 when Giuseppe Borgogno, great-grandfather of the current owners, began cultivating and vinifying the family’s grapes in the village of Barolo. The estate later took the Damilano name under Giacomo Damilano, who expanded the family’s work in both the vineyards and the cellar.

Since 1997, the winery has been led by a new generation of the Damilano family. Their work remains closely tied to Nebbiolo and to the individual character of Barolo’s most important geographic mentions, with particular emphasis on sites such as Cannubi, Brunate, Cerequio, Liste and Raviole.

Cannubi is especially central to the estate’s identity. Damilano farms roughly ten hectares on the historic hill, where sandy, calcareous soils contribute to the finesse and aromatic character for which the site is known. Across the estate, the focus remains on preserving the distinctions between vineyard sites while carrying a long family tradition forward.
