Bodegas Zífar

Bodegas Zífar is based in Peñafiel, in the heart of Ribera del Duero, in a distinctive Mudéjar-style building dating to 1914. The winery project began in the early 2000s, and in 2014 it was acquired by Alejandro Gómez Sigala together with Letizia Mangione and Alejandro Alberto Gómez.

The estate works vineyards in Pesquera del Duero and Quintanilla de Arriba, including old and, in some cases, century-origin vines planted across contrasting soils and elevations. Grapes are harvested by hand, moved in small lots and selected again at the winery before vinification by parcel.

Ageing takes place in an underground cellar designed to maintain naturally stable temperature and humidity, with more than 500 barrels, predominantly French oak. The range includes Senda de los Olivos, Caballero Zífar and Pago de las Sabinas, with Tempranillo at the center of the red wines.
