Bodegas Rulei

Rulei is the small Rioja Alta project of grower-winemaker Adrián Moreno Llorente, who personally farms the old vineyards passed down through his family. Based in Badarán, the estate is built around a vigneron approach: knowing each parcel intimately, farming sustainably and working in very small quantities with minimal intervention.

The project centers on two distinctive family vineyards. Viña Barracallo, planted in 1985 near Castañares de Rioja, lies on exceptionally poor alluvial gravel and quartzite soils at about 551 meters. Viña El Moral, in Badarán, is a century-old Garnacha vineyard on reddish clay and iron-rich soils and was recognized as a Viñedo Singular in 2018.

Rulei combines traditional, artisanal cellar work with a willingness to experiment within Rioja, while keeping vineyard character at the center of the wines. Its identity is deliberately small-scale, site-driven and deeply tied to the old family vines of Rioja Alta.
