Bodegas Huentala

Bodegas Huentala grew from Julio Camsen’s search for a high-altitude vineyard site in Mendoza and the development of La Isabel Estate in Gualtallary, Tupungato. The project took shape in the early 2000s, with the estate becoming the foundation for a producer focused on understanding the character of this elevated corner of the Uco Valley.

La Isabel Estate sits at roughly 1,350 to 1,400 meters above sea level, where large day-to-night temperature swings slow ripening and preserve freshness. Its soils vary across sandy, calcareous and stony-calcareous profiles, allowing the team to match varieties and parcels to the geology beneath them.

Under winemaker José “Pepe” Morales and agronomist Alberto “Toti” Benenati, Huentala works vineyard by vineyard, with lines such as Zonos, La Isabel Estate, Blocks Edition and Calizo built around different expressions of site. The estate also brings wine, landscape, art and hospitality together at the foot of the Andes.
