Bartolo Mascarello

Cantina Bartolo Mascarello was founded in Barolo in 1919 by Giulio Mascarello and became one of the region’s defining traditional estates under his son Bartolo. Today the winery is led by Bartolo’s daughter, Maria Teresa Mascarello, who continues the family’s long-standing approach to Barolo without chasing modern stylistic trends.

The estate works historic vineyards in Barolo and La Morra, including Cannubi, San Lorenzo, Rué and Rocche dell’Annunziata. Rather than bottling these sites separately, the fruit is blended to create a single Barolo, reflecting the family’s belief that the combined expression of multiple crus gives greater balance and complexity. Fermentations take place in concrete with long macerations, followed by extended aging in large neutral Slavonian oak casks.
