Arnaldo Caprai

Arnaldo Caprai was founded in Montefalco in 1971, when Umbrian entrepreneur Arnaldo Caprai invested in an agricultural estate with the aim of producing wine and developing the potential of the native Sagrantino grape. In 1986 his son Marco Caprai took over the winery, beginning a new phase focused on research, experimentation and a deeper understanding of Montefalco’s vineyards.

The estate has become closely associated with the modern revival of Sagrantino and with a philosophy that combines agronomic and enological research with respect for Umbrian tradition. Its work in the Montefalco DOCG area centers on native varieties such as Sagrantino and Grechetto, alongside other local and international grapes, with the goal of expressing the character, structure and longevity of the territory.
