Les Suchots has always been the prestige premier cru of this house — a 0.43-hectare parcel sitting between Échézeaux and Romanée-Saint-Vivant, close enough to the Grands Crus to borrow their perfume. And 2007 carries a marker: it was the first vintage ever bottled under the Arnoux-Lachaux name.

🍷 At a Glance

• Holding: 0.43 hectares
• Vinification: Natural fermentation, 14 months in barrel, unfined and unfiltered
• Serving temperature: 15–17°C
• Style: Dry red wine

👃 Tasting Notes & Experience

• Color: Medium ruby, well into garnet
• Nose: Vosne spice and red fruit, now with the forest-floor complexity of age
• Palate: Reserved in youth by reputation, and fully unfurled at this point
• Structure: Fine tannins, resolved
• Finish: Long and savoury

The estate dates to 1858 and passed from Robert Arnoux to his son-in-law Pascal Lachaux, who renamed it to reflect the union of the two families; 2007 was the first wine to carry it. Les Suchots was the family's showpiece long before the current fame — Pascal has said it is good both young and old, though a little closed early on. Eighteen years in, that reserve has long since gone. This is a bottle for someone who wants the domaine's history rather than its hype.
