This is the Albariño that shows up crisp, salty, and put-together, even when you are not. Coastal Galicia energy in a bottle, made for seafood nights and main-character aperitivo hours.
Wine Description
Lagar de Cervera 2023 is a straight-up Albariño from Rías Baixas, made at Lagar de Fornelos, the Galician winery acquired by La Rioja Alta, S.A. back in 1988. It is built from estate fruit in the O Rosal and O Salnés subzones, which is fancy talk for “Atlantic freshness with a little extra nerve.”
In the cellar, they keep it clean and precise: cool handling, fermentation in tank, no malolactic, then time on fine lees with stirring for texture. The result is a white that feels bright and sleek, not watery, not perfumed, not trying too hard.
The Vibe
Imagine a white button-down shirt that somehow looks better at 1 a.m. than it did at 7 p.m., and also smells faintly like the ocean in a good way. This is your “text me when you are ordering oysters” wine, and it will absolutely make you feel like you have your life together.
What it tastes like
Fresh apple and pear, a squeeze of citrus, a little white-flower lift, and that clean salty edge that makes you immediately want another sip. It is broad enough to feel satisfying, but it stays sharp and persistent through the finish.
Pairing + When to drink it
Seafood is the obvious flirt, but it also plays very nice with sushi, simple fish, soft cheeses, rice dishes, and lighter poultry. Drink it now while it is all snap and sparkle, and serve it cool.
