Château de Mille Blanc 2023 – Organic White Wine from Luberon, Provence
Château de Mille Blanc 2023 – Historic Luberon Elegance in a Bottle
🌿 1,000 Years (Almost) of Heritage. One Glass to Tell the Story.
Grown from vines nestled deep in the Provençal hills of Luberon, Château de Mille isn’t just another charming château—it’s the oldest wine estate in the region, dating back to circa 1238. Yes, eight centuries of wine-soaked secrets whispering from every stone. After falling into obscurity, the estate has been dramatically revived by Constance and Lawrence Slaughter, a Franco-American couple who took ownership in 2018 and turned this sleeping beauty into a modern biodynamic powerhouse.
Their goal? To bring out the purity and intensity of Luberon terroir while protecting the land that’s been cultivated for centuries. And with Éléonore Daridan—the estate’s head winemaker trained at Château de Pommard—leading the charge, the results are nothing short of extraordinary.
🍇 The Wine: Château de Mille Blanc 2023
A blend of Clairette and Ugni Blanc, this wine is made from old vines planted in clay-limestone soils, grown organically and vinified with minimal intervention. 2023 was a warm vintage, and this wine shines because of it—ripe fruit, wild herbs, and Luberon sunshine in a glass.
💬 Critic Review
🏅 91 Points – IWSC 2023
“Fresh and lifted on the nose, showing lemon, grapefruit, poached pear, and green mango. Creamy texture with fresh and dried fruits on the palate, a touch of ginger spice, and great length. A lovely wine.”
