Pauillac Precision — Château Batailley 2017

Tasting Notes

In the glass it shows a deep garnet-ruby hue, telling you this is serious. On the nose: black currant, cassis, cedar chest, pencil shavings and a touch of graphite and tobacco.

On the palate: concentrated dark fruit, firm but fine tannins, lifted acidity and a long finish with gravelly minerality and classic Pauillac gravel-bed clarity. It’s dense, structured, and built for time.
Wine Enthusiast rated it 92 points: “this juicy, smoothly textured wine shows great fruitiness, ripe tannins and plenty of freshness. Black-currant flavors shine from the Cabernet Sauvignon.”

Meet the Winemaker

The vineyards rest on deep gravel beds over clay and sandstone, average vine age about 40 years. Food Pairings
