Weingüter Wegeler

Weingüter Wegeler is a family-run German wine estate founded in 1882, with historic holdings in both the Rheingau and Mosel. The house has built its identity around Riesling, complemented by a smaller Pinot Noir program through Krone Assmannshausen.

In the Mosel, one of Wegeler’s most important sites is the Bernkasteler Doctor. Julius Wegeler acquired part of the vineyard in 1900 and expanded that holding in 1910, making the estate the largest owner in this famously steep Riesling site.

At InBodega, our current Wegeler wine is the Bernkasteler Doctor Riesling Beerenauslese 2013, a Collection bottle that sits naturally under the wider Weingüter Wegeler producer umbrella and leaves the page ready for future Rheingau or Mosel additions.
