Vitícola Mentridana

Vitícola Mentridana took shape as a distinct Sierra de Gredos project in 2021, when Dani Landi placed his Méntrida vineyards in the care of his childhood friend Curro Bareño. Those vineyards, together with parcels from Curro’s family, form a project focused specifically on the southern side of Gredos and the D.O. Méntrida.

The vineyards lie across the Tiétar Valley and surrounding villages, at roughly 600 to 900 meters of elevation. Old-vine Garnacha is the heart of the estate, rooted in sandy, granitic soils and farmed with an emphasis on preserving the character of each site.

Curro Bareño and José Ángel Ares Lombán oversee the winemaking, working with hand-harvested fruit, native fermentations and a restrained cellar approach that can include concrete, foudres and demi-muids. Although linked historically to Dani Landi and Comando G, Vitícola Mentridana is a separate winery and vineyard project with its own geographic focus and identity.
