Otazu

Otazu is a family wine estate just outside Pamplona whose modern chapter began in 1989, when the family returned to Navarra and revived a property with a historic winery dating to 1840. In 2009, the estate received D.O.P. Pago de Otazu recognition, placing it among Spain’s small group of Vino de Pago estates.

The vineyards sit between the Sarbil and Perdón mountain ranges under a marked Atlantic influence, with clay-limestone soils, slow ripening and strong day-to-night temperature shifts. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo and Chardonnay are at the core of the estate, while contemporary art is woven directly into the landscape and winery rather than treated like decoration.

Otazu’s identity sits at the intersection of vineyard, architecture and contemporary art, with the Pago estate treated as both a wine-growing landscape and a cultural space.
