Lagar de Besada

Lagar de Besada is a family-run winery in Xil, Pontevedra, in the heart of the Salnés Valley. Its professional story began around 1988, alongside the creation of the D.O. Rías Baixas, and the winery was among the early producers to join the appellation with Albariño at the center of its identity.

The vineyards are spread through the Salnés Valley in the small parcels typical of Galicia’s minifundio landscape. Albariño is trained on traditional high pergolas, a system that improves ventilation around the fruit and helps the vines adapt to the humid Atlantic conditions of the region.

Lagar de Besada describes its approach in terms of patience and minimal intervention: careful grape selection, measured cellar work and respect for the time each wine needs. That philosophy supports a range that explores Albariño through fresh releases, extended lees aging, clay vessels and traditional-method sparkling wine while remaining firmly rooted in Rías Baixas.
