Estévez Bodegas y Viñedos

Estévez Bodegas y Viñedos is rooted in Valtuille de Abajo, in the heart of Bierzo, where the Estévez family’s connection to the land reaches back generations. The project grew from a return to family vineyards and from Helios Estévez’s determination to recover a heritage shaped by exile, memory and the vineyards of his native Bierzo.

The estate works with old vineyards around Valtuille de Abajo, where Mencía and other traditional varieties grow across a patchwork of sites with different elevations, exposures and soils. These parcels form the basis of the winery’s identity and of the Versos de Valtuille range, which places the landscape and individual vineyard character at the center of the wines.

In the cellar, the approach is focused on preserving that sense of origin through spontaneous fermentations, restrained handling and careful aging. The result is a producer whose modern chapter is inseparable from family continuity, old vines and the distinct vineyard mosaic of Valtuille de Abajo.
