Domaine Les Pallières

Domaine Les Pallières is a historic Gigondas estate whose vineyards remained in the same family from the 15th century until 1998, when the property was acquired and revived by the Brunier family of Vieux Télégraphe together with Kermit Lynch.

The domaine lies at the northern edge of the Gigondas appellation, with roughly 25 hectares of terraced vineyards between about 250 and 400 meters in elevation. The slopes are largely north-facing, with soils combining sand, clay, limestone and scree. Farming is organic in practice, and harvest is carried out by hand with rigorous sorting.

Beginning with the 2007 vintage, the estate separated its Gigondas into two cuvées to better express the site. Racines comes from the parcels surrounding the winery, including the domaine’s oldest vines, while Terrasse du Diable comes from higher-elevation parcels. Fermentations use indigenous yeasts, and the wines are aged in traditional large-format vessels before bottling.
