Domaine Edmond Vatan

Domaine Edmond Vatan is a family estate in Chavignol, within the Loire Valley’s Sancerre appellation. Its reputation centers on Clos la Néore, a small Sauvignon Blanc parcel on the Monts Damnés hillside.

Edmond established the domaine’s exacting approach to vineyard work and traditional winemaking. His daughter Anne took over from the 2008 vintage, continuing the family’s close attention to the fruit and its origin.

The domaine favors restrained intervention, spontaneous fermentation and bottling without fining or filtration. Clos la Néore expresses the limestone character of its site through concentration, freshness and mineral definition.
