Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils

Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils is a family estate in Chassagne-Montrachet, in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. Today the fourth generation works 15 hectares across 14 appellations in Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin, with production divided roughly 70% white and 30% red.

In the vineyards, the domaine has avoided herbicides for more than fifteen years and plows its soils. Since 2014 it has used only organic products for vine-disease control, without pursuing certification, alongside careful debudding, green harvesting when needed and summer leaf removal.

For Chardonnay, the fruit is pressed and moved to barrel with 10% to 25% new oak, followed by natural alcoholic fermentation and 12 to 18 months of élevage depending on the cuvée. The domaine is especially associated with Chassagne-Montrachet and its Premier Cru vineyards, where white Burgundy is the heart of the estate’s work.
