Château Kirwan

Château Kirwan is a historic Margaux estate named for Mark Kirwan, an Irish merchant who settled in Bordeaux in the eighteenth century and transformed the former Domaine de Lassalle into a property of international renown.

Ranked at the head of the Médoc’s Third Growths in the 1855 classification, Kirwan has belonged to the Schÿler family since 1926, carrying its heritage forward through generations of family stewardship and precise winemaking.

The estate’s 37 hectares occupy the Cantenac plateau across a mosaic of gravel and clay soils, where Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot combine to express the finesse and velvety texture associated with Margaux.
