Château de Lascaux

Château de Lascaux is a family estate in Vacquières, at the heart of Pic Saint-Loup in the Languedoc. The Cavalier family has been established there since the 16th century, and Jean-Benoît Cavalier took over the domaine in 1984 as the 14th generation of family winegrowers.

Under Jean-Benoît, the estate expanded its vineyard holdings, refined its planting choices and built a new cellar to improve parcel-by-parcel precision. Château de Lascaux became certified organic in 2009 and biodynamic in 2018.

Today the 14th and 15th generations work together across 85 hectares of vines, all located within roughly 10 kilometers of the winery. The estate produces wines from both Pic Saint-Loup and broader Languedoc appellations, with a focus on preserving the character of its Mediterranean landscape and the biodiversity of the surrounding garrigue.
