Casanova di Neri

Casanova di Neri was founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri, who chose Montalcino at a time when Brunello was still produced by only a small number of estates. He bought Podere Casanova on the eastern side of town, restored its Sangiovese vineyards, and began building the estate that his son Giacomo would later lead.

The winery now works seven vineyards across the Montalcino appellation, including Cerretalto and Cetine. Their different soils, exposures and microclimates are central to the estate’s identity, with Sangiovese at the heart of the range and individual sites treated as distinct expressions rather than interchangeable sources.

Cerretalto and Tenuta Nuova capture two of the estate’s best-known expressions of Sangiovese, each shaped by a different part of Montalcino and by the Neri family’s long focus on site-specific Brunello.
