• Structure: Fine tannins with good definition
• Finish: Long and persistent
Suchots sits on the upper slope, flanked by Échézeaux on one side and Romanée-Saint-Vivant on the other — about as good a neighbourhood as premier cru gets. Merchants who follow Hudelot-Noëllat name Suchots and Malconsorts as the two premiers crus that collectors pursue alongside the grands crus, and the near-century-old vines are the reason. 2017 was a generous, well-balanced year in the Côte de Nuits after the frost-ravaged 2016, giving wines of charm and clarity that have been drinking well early without lacking structure.
