The domaine's flagship, and one of the reasons it is spoken of in the same breath as DRC and Leroy — those three are the only producers who own both Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Richebourg. Half a hectare of grand cru, and two bottles of the 2014.

Romanée-Saint-Vivant is the most delicate and aromatic of the Vosne grands crus, and the wine Charles van Canneyt is judged on. The domaine came together in 1962 with the marriage of Alain Hudelot and Odile Noëllat, and the great Vosne parcels arrived by inheritance from her grandfather Charles Noëllat in 1978. Charles van Canneyt took over from the 2008 vintage and has held the winemaking deliberately classical — ploughing, low yields, wild yeasts, concrete fermentation of the must, and around eighteen months in barrel. 2014 gave the Côte de Nuits a cool, precise year, which suits a vineyard that lives on perfume rather than weight.
