A warm, ripe, generous vintage on Pommard's greatest site, made by Paul Zinetti. The Clos des Épeneaux is roughly 5.2 walled hectares held by one family since 1826, and one of the few premier crus in Burgundy never to have been divided.

👃 Tasting Notes & Experience
• Color: Deep, saturated ruby
• Nose: Ripe dark fruit over earth and warm spice
• Palate: Generous and full, with the concentration a dry, warm season brings
• Structure: Ripe, substantial tannins
• Finish: Long and deep
The Clos sits across parts of both Grands and Petits Épenots but has always tasted like its own thing rather than a blend of the two. Its scale is the point: enough ground to carry vines of many ages, so each block ferments apart and the assemblage is made afterwards, with the youngest fruit declassified into the domaine's Pommard. Zinetti, in charge since 2014 after four years under Benjamin Leroux, has brought a subtle shift of emphasis that regular tasters notice without quite being able to name. 2019 was warm and dry, giving concentrated, powerful wines with the structure for the long term.
