Georges Roumier bought it from the Bettenfeld family in 1953 and found it in poor condition; replanting began in 1955 and the final phase was completed in 1994. Christophe Roumier has made the wines since the mid-1980s, and his stated aim is to express each site rather than impose a house style — natural yeasts, a good share of whole bunches, judicious oak, no fining or filtration.
