Sem d'Angerville refused to go along with the blending frauds of the négociant trade in the 1920s and started bottling at the domaine instead, one of the first in the region to do so; the family went on to help build the AOC system itself, and Guillaume d'Angerville, the sixth generation, now presides over the body protecting Burgundy's climats. The house style is precision rather than flash — Clive Coates called these wines pure, terroir-specific, elegant and intense. 2008 was a cool, demanding year that gave high acidity and moderate ripeness, and the successful wines have aged into freshness and definition rather than weight. Caillerets, always the perfumed one, suits that beautifully at seventeen years old.

❤️ Why We Love It

• The most fragrant cru at a domaine that helped invent estate bottling in Burgundy
• Biodynamic farming and a house clone found nowhere else
• A full twelve-bottle case of mature Volnay premier cru

🍽️ Food Pairing Ideas

• Roast poultry, guinea fowl and game birds
• Mushrooms, truffle and root vegetables
• Soft washed-rind cheeses

👤 Who This Wine Is For

✓ Drinkers who want perfume, lift and transparency over power
✓ Anyone wanting a mature Côte de Beaune premier cru ready to open
✕ Not ideal if you want ripeness, flesh and obvious oak

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0701/1739/2436/collections/domaine-marquis-dangerville-821x598.jpg?v=1791262989
